Migraine has a typical set of symptoms usually characterized by severe pain on one or both sides of the head. There are a number of factors that can trigger this pain through the exact cause is not known yet.
Migraine has a tendency to run in families, which shows the possibility of being inherited through genes. The scientists have observed that during an attack of the disease there’s inflammation and dilation of the blood vessels in the head causing disturbance of blood flow and thus leading to pain.
This neurological disorder affects almost eighteen percent of females and six percent of the males the world over. The onset is usually gradual. The pain peaks and then subsides and usually lasts 4 to 72 hours in adults and 1 to 48 hours in children. The frequency of attack is extremely variable, from a few in a lifetime to several in a week, the average in a month. And the pain also varies greatly in intensity.
Famous people are no different than ordinary unknown souls when it comes to Migraines, but it is encouraging that this disease could not stop them from performing remarkable acts that left indelible imprint on history. Julius Caesar, Napoleon Bonaparte and many other world famous people and philosophers suffered from Migraine headaches.
The majority of patients, however lose their hands when faced with sever headaches. Let me share with you two cases ordinary patients. Mrs. Akram kiani, a housewife, complained that she was hit by headache before, during and after her periods. And then she remained Migraine free for two weeks every month. These Migraine attacks had incapacitated her for the last 15 years. When I first saw her she had experienced six severe headaches the month before, each lasting one to two days.
She felt isolated form everything during her terrible headaches and used panadol tablets every 4 to 4 hours to manage the pain. She became extremely sensitive to light, noise, and movement. Mrs. Kiyani’s headaches made her very angry and she couldn’t stand to have even her family members around.
An allopathic doctor brought another patient Mrs. Hassan in her forties, and a lecturer, to me five months ago. She could neither sleep at night nor could walk for two hundred meters at a stretch. She had stopped breakfast because she simply could not eat in the morning.
Having being disappointed by various treatments, she had started thinking of taking her life. Both these patients were treated homeopathically and gradually recovered completely. Homeopathic medicines are natural and made from any substance in nature you think of. A dose of carefully selected carefully selected homeopathic medicine according to the symptoms can relieve the patient, by the grace of Allah, ordeal forever.
In allopathic system the doctors give two different kind of medicine to mitigate the sufferings of a patient. These are pain relieving and preventive medicine, which reduce the severity and frequency of migraines.
Homeopathy treats this disease by individualizing the symptoms of a particular patient. These are over 5000 medicines to choose from and if well selected they can serve the purpose.
